In the past I have always created a diaper cake when invited to a diaper party, but after seeing all of the creative ideas on Pinterest - baskets, trains, cars, bouquets and much more, all made out of diapers!
I knew I wanted to try something different, I opted for a wreath inspired by this pin...
It is super simple to create a diaper wreath, I found it a lot less time consuming to create than a diaper cake and you can get away with using a lot less diapers than you need for a cake.
Diaper Wreath Supplies...
30 Newborn Diapers
Curling Ribbon
Wreath Form (Mine was purchase from Family Dollar)
Clear Plastic Rubber Bands
Scissors
Decorative Award Ribbon from Bravimisso
1| Since I used a straw wreath form I covered it with clear packing tape so it would be easier to slide the diapers together and to avoid getting them icky from little pieces of straw that break off from the wreath
2| Wrap the diaper around the wreath form and use a clear plastic rubber band to secure the diaper
3| Tie curling ribbon around the diaper to cover the rubber band and then using scissor curl the ribbon
4| Keeping attaching diapers to the wreath form, pushing them together so that none of the form shows
5| When the entire wreath form is covered attach the decorative award ribbon
This project took me about 35 minutes and I started over once because I used light blue raffia ribbon the first go around and didn't love the look. Hopefully the mom-to-be loves the wreath as much as I do!

I"ve never seen one of these before! I have a baby shower soon this would be perfect. Actually my SPD this week is for the baby shower as well.
ReplyDeleteHow cute!
This project is super easy and it cost me about $10 to put together! I am headed over to check out your SPD to get some baby shower/gift inspiration.
